History of the earthquake in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia.
2005: April (6.5 SR)
2007: October (7.2 SR)
2009: 30 September (the government said 7.9 SR)
year: 2005
when the earthquake happened, I just got home from the hospital.
year: 2007
one day before Ramadan. Our family will have dinner.
Year: 2009
Time : 5:16 pm
at that time just me and mom at home. Father was still working and my youngest sister at the school. One hour after the quake, my father came home. his clothes and car covered with dust. My father's repair shop collapsed because the earthquake. Then we get news that my youngest sister schools also collapsed and there are two students who become victims. We are very scared because my sister still has not returned. Father finally went to find my sister, but can't find her. It makes us very anxious. We are afraid that she become the victims too. Alhamdulillah. Thanks god, finally my sister came home at 8 pm.
From her story, we know that many buildings in downtown, collapsed. Market collapsed and burned, causing dozens of people trapped inside, died. As well as several hotels, schools and tutoring centers collapsed and caused many died.
I do not want to repeat that experience again ...
Hopefully no more earthquakes > / \ <
